Paris is one of the most romantic cities in the world for a reason. There is an endless list of restaurants with a view on the Eiffel Tower with accordions playing in the background. Numerous events and dance clubs celebrate the occasion for every music taste. Perhaps this is why you don’t have a plan on Saint Valentine’s day in Paris yet… There are so many places to go, you may not know where to begin! If this is the case, fear no more – we gathered a few ideas for you to nail this Valentine’s day, and help you fan the flames of passion with your significant other.
Say it with chocolat
Saint Valentine’s day is one of love, but also, of chocolate. Let’s head to rue de Rivoli in the Marais area to look for a Valentine’s chocolate box. You’ll find you have plenty of choices: L’atelier du Chocolat, Larnicol, Jeff de Bruges… Why not sample all of them?
A walk around Montmartre
If you are in the mood for a promenade but feel a little bit let down because the famous love padlocks have been cut out of the Pont des Arts, I would suggest you wander around Montmartre instead. Sure, Montmartre is a lovely place any time of year, but we are thinking of a particular place: in the Square des Abbesses, called Le mur des Je t’aime, the Wall of ‘I love You’. It is the rendez-vous place for lovers around the world, a monument where “I love you” has been written a thousand times in 300 different languages. Did we just hear someone say “aw”?
The most romantic museum
You still feel like going for a walk? Then why not take a turn to the Musée Rodin? A special event will take place on the 14th, a “Love Night” where couples may visit the gardens while listening to jazzy music, and have a candle-lit tour of the museum.
Dinner with a view
After all that strolling and dawdling you must be hungry! If you and your partner don’t mind heights, how about having a romantic dinner on top of the Eiffel Tower? 58 Tour Eiffel is a restaurant nestled in the “Big Lady” and they have prepared a special evening for lovebirds with an unrivalled sight of Paris at night. There is nothing like it!
There you have it, our suggestions for a very Parisian Valentine’s day. Last but not least, don’t forget the champagne!
