A Parisian Foodie’s Ultimate Day

Spend a day like a Parisian foodie. Discover where locals eat, sip coffee, shop for food, and enjoy the simple rhythm of great ingredients in the heart of Paris.

8:00 AM – A Proper Start

I begin the day at Maison Landemaine with a fresh croissant and an espresso. It’s a quick but satisfying routine. The pastry is still warm, the coffee strong, and the sidewalk terrace just busy enough.

10:00 AM – Market Stroll

At Marché d’Aligre, the morning gets brighter. I stop for samples—cheese, olives, ripe fruit. It’s part grocery run, part conversation. This is where locals stock their kitchens, and it’s where I pick up a few ingredients for later.

11:30 AM – Specialty Food Shopping

Next stop: La Maison Plisson. It’s a modern épicerie with high-quality products—olive oils, jams, sea salt, and excellent wine. As a Parisian foodie, I’m always keeping an eye out for small producers and seasonal items.

1:00 PM – Lunch

Lunch is at Le Comptoir du Relais. The food is classic and well-made. I order the plat du jour, a glass of red, and take my time. In Paris, lunch isn’t something you rush.

3:00 PM – Sweet Break & Browsing

I stop by Pierre Hermé for a couple of macarons—light, flavorful, and always inventive. Then it’s on to Rue du Bac for some casual browsing. I drop into Merci and a few kitchen shops for tools and linens. Shopping here blends function with style.

6:00 PM – Final Groceries

I wrap up at La Grande Épicerie. It’s one of the best food halls in Paris. I pick up a baguette, some cheese, and a good bottle of wine for dinner. That’s how most days end—around a table, simply and well.
